Knowing the place where djDecks stores settings can be useful for various reasons:
-Creating/editing startup scripts
-Create back ups of record cases and settings
-Modify/import record cases from other software
-Remove settings to start over with clean settings
-Access to log files* Windows XP
Settings are simply stored in C:\Program Files\djDecks\settings
(or a 'settings' subdir of the folder where you installed djDecks)* Windows Vista and Windows 7
In Windows Vista (or in Windows XP with a non-administrator account) it is no longer possible for installed programs to modify files in the Program Files folder.
Settings are therefore stored in the 'Local Application Data' folder.
You can access it in a few ways:
-Enter "%LOCALAPPDATA%\djDecks" in the location bar of a windows explorer
-Browse to "c:\Users\Username" where you can follow the hidden link "Local Settings" or open the hidden folder "AppData" where you find the subfolder "Local\djDecks"
-Open djDecks, press Menu->Console. On the console, press Debug... and select 'Open settings folder'
What you can find there:* log.txt
Log file that can log errors or warnings that occurred while using djDecks.* logs subfolder
Contains text log files if this option was enabled in djDecks (Menu->Options->General).* settings\username\playlists
The m3u playlists that are shown in djDecks as record cases.
You can edit them with any program that supports m3u playlists.
It is also possible to create sub-folders to group your playlists.
If logging to m3u playlists is enabled, this folder will also contain a log subfolder.* settings\username\dj.ini
File containing most of the settings you can edit in djDecks* settings\username\tagcache.db
Old djDecks tag cache database, used to speed up opening folders, searching and waveform overviews.* settings\username\tagcache2.db
New djDecks tag database, used to speed up opening folders, searching and waveform overviews.
If you are having problems with tags showing up incorrectly, or other browsing problems, you can delete this file and rebuild the tag cache.* settings\username\callibrate_1.jpg
When pressing 'Show Analysis' in Menu->Options->Vinyl Control, these files are stored here. They are useful to troubleshoot vinyl control problems.* settings\username\startup.djscript
This file will not exist in a new installation, but you can create it and include a script in there to execute when djDecks starts.
