Advanced Audio Properties in Control Panel's Sounds and Audio Devices include: Hardware Acceleration and Sample rate conversion quality.

let's only discuss sound output. i have a BCD-2000 setup on ASIO in djDecks. there are two sound cards in the Device Manager: BCD and BCDWDM. if i disable the WDM driver, the Hardware Acceleration and Sample rate conversion quality settings become unavailable. there's no windows audio or midi, but ASIO still works.

when i re-enable the WDM driver and mess with the Hardware Acceleration and Sample rate conversion quality settings, does it affect anything? i have recorded and compared both sample rates and they seem different, but i might be wrong... maybe this changes only the quality of recorded files? this shouldn't affect ASIO, right?
