So, I tried writing a script to emulate the "stock" beatgrid effect in virtual dj:

wait 0.24 beats 0 accurate
click Loop,0.25 0
wait 0.75 beats 0 accurate
click Loop_MoveBeats,1 0
click SeekFwd,0|1 0
wait 0.10 beats 0 accurate
click Loop,0.50 0
wait 0.50 beats 0 accurate
click Loop,0.25 0
wait 0.50 beats 0 accurate
click Loop_MoveBeats,1 0
click SeekFwd,0|1 0
wait 0.10 beats 0 accurate
click Loop,0.50 0
wait 0.90 beats 0 accurate
click Loop_MoveBeats,1 0
click SeekFwd,0|1 0
wait 0.10 beats 0 accurate
click Loop,0.50 0
click SeekFwd,0|0 0

Functionally, it sounds like it should on the deck its applied to. However, after the script is run, the pitch of the deck that the script is run on appears to be altered, but the pitch % and the bpm values (variables) do not appear to be affected. I noticed this when trying to sync deck B to deck A with deck A not at 0% pitch after applying the effect to deck A. Sync works fine with deck A at 0% pitch, but above 0% deck B syncs faster than deck A despite showing identical bpm values and if deck A is below 0% pitch then deck B syncs slower despite showing identical values.

Example:
Deck A normal BPM = 128, Deck B normal BPM = 120
Apply effect to deck A, no change in BPM
Reduce Deck A pitch to 124, increase deck B to 124
Deck B plays slower than deck A...
increase deck B to about 126 and they're back in sync

I should also note that this behaviour also seems to be completely dependent on having the tempo control enabled. Issue is there when enabled, but performs as expected when disabled.

Any ideas on what might be happening? If I can figure it out then there's a good possibility we can have a beatgrid added to djDecks
