no dice here ... everytime I try to press "Apply" on the preferences screen, DJD crashes ...

same when i go Command+Q ... DJD shuts down properly but also gives me an OSX warning that it stopped unexpectedly ?

Vinyl Control doesn't work, regular playback does, BUT with no sound being played through my soundcard (I see the volume meter moving in DJD but hear nothing ...) Soundcard is properly recognized in OSX ...

I'm exactly experiencing the same bugs.

Sorry for being a lazy poster

I think I found the problem, and it only occurred with external mixer set, not with internal mixer.
A new build is online now which should fix setting the audio settings.

Verry nice!! Vinylcontrol works!!! You've allmost solved everything, but there is still no audio playback through the soundcard. The soundcards mixer still doesn't recieve any signal from djDecks. I'm using excactly the same settings as in Windows.

Strange, all audio devices I tested so far appeared to be working.
Could you also try if the internal soundcard isn't working either, and if you get a signal by selecting to use the internal mixer instead of an external?

Build in output works fine. Switching between internal and external makes no difference.

Mrq, check if your interface is correctly set up in 'MIDI Settings' (Apps/Tools or something like that - I'm using polish OSX locale). That's "just in case", sorry for being obvious.

Hi Optik,

You're not being obvious at all, I hadn't look in to that yet, thanks.

Everything seems fine in the MIDI?AUDIO setup, and other applications like Ableton and iTunes work fine.

I did notice that the card has an 32 bit structure, which can not be set to 16 bit. Perhaps djDecks can't handle a 32 bit output???

The Preferences panel no longer crashes DJD when pressing Apply, but Vinyl Control still isn't working.

I do get a varying pitch readout on Deck 2, but it doesn't trigger the waveform to play.

I use a Stanton Scratchamp 2 by the way, connected over Firewire.

I've uploaded a new build that will output some more details about the sound card's format.
You have to start djDecks from the Terminal to be able to see the details though.
If you extracted djDecks to a subdirectory of your home directory, start the Terminal and type the following:
Code:
cd djDecksForMac
cd djDecksForMac.app
cd Contents
cd MacOS
./djDecksForMac

Now you will see Device Format flags, bits per channel, channels per frame and samplerate.
Make sure that your sound card is selected, press Apply again, and then let me know which values you get.

Connect!
Device Format Flags 9
Device Format Bits Per Channel 32
Device Format Channels Per Frame 1
Device Format Samplerate 44100
Connect!
Device Format Flags 0
Device Format Bits Per Channel 0
Device Format Channels Per Frame 0
Device Format Samplerate 0

Thanks, I think I found the problem.
With all audio interfaces I have tried so far, the Channels Per Frame was equal to the total number of channels available.
With yours I think that each channel is stored in a separate buffer.
I've uploaded a new version that should work with your sound card.

Yes you've found it, you wizzard you!! :D

Just had my first testrun with a SSL record. Verry steady!

Unfortunately I can't set the buffer on the soundcard's controlpanel, so I couldn't decrease the latency, but it was good enough for some plain beatmatching.

Thank you Adion!

OK, I'll check the new beta with my soundcard too tonight and let you know what the deal is.

update : soundcard works now, when I use the play controls in djdecks, it sends out the audio through my soundcard.

vinyl control however doesn't work at all.

just to make sure I'm doing the right thing : I can only switch vinyl control on or off, there's no way to choose relative or absolute mode (noR in djdecks itself, nor in the Preferences pane) ?

That's correct.
djDecks should start in absolute mode if the timecode file was correctly loaded, if it still says REL you may not have extracted the timecode files correctly.

Small new update, you can now select if you want to start in relative or in absolute mode, and you can change the buffer size of the audio buffer.

then I'm sure that's OK, cos djdecks always shows "FS ABS" when I start up and switch vinyl control on.

I'll try relative mode when I get home tonight and see if that responds to my Final Scratch vinyl.

thanks for the update once again !

Nice one! A buffer of 64 samples works perfect for me.

I will test relative mode later on.

Keeping you posted,

Mark

same here.
the previous problem with selecting tcv type was probably caused by me forgetting to put timecode files back in the djd directory.

Tried 256 samples buffer ON A FREAKING U46DJ ;) - works flawlessly, no dropouts or anything.

one question though - tcv mode selection from the skin is not possible at this time, is it?
