Noticed a few things: The "needle dropping delay" that optik mentioned, although that only seems to appear when accessing a part of the file that has not been analyzed yet (part of waveform in overview still missing, and BTW, so far analyzing seems to take quite a long time compared to the windows version)

At the moment the mac version is still always in Streaming Mode, so only the part around the current position is pre-loaded.

Overall vinyl control seems to be quite stable already, except I sometimes have problems with the pitch going wild. My guess is that this has to do with the output of my ortofon OM pro carts, which have always been a little on the high side in combination with my trusty old U46DJ. Might be fixed as soon as calibration will be possible. (Or is it and I just can't find it?)

Callibration still needs to be added as well.

Oh, btw, and kinda off topic: I really miss the warning window when loading a file into a deck which is still running

I'll see what I can do :)

New beta online which adds the warning window. It can be toggled on or off in Preferences (under Visuals for now)

New beta, vinyl control callibration added.
Note that there is no working status information yet, so you can press the callibrate button, wait 10 seconds, then restart djDecks (or switch the decks selection on the preferences window) and you should see pitch variance and gain values are updated.
You can also manually enter them if you have values from the windows version.

It seems I've got the most up and running fairly quick. But there are still a few issues...

- Minimizing does not work through the button in the interface (CMD+H does work)

- I can't seem to calibrate my timecode vinyls, where do I find that option?

- SSL in ABS mode works alright so far, although sometimes I'm having pitch glitches, it tends to jump up and down for about 0.1% sometimes..

- When right-clicking the vinyl control field, it turns to line-in. After that, it won't turn back to vinyl control, even after restarting. The only option is to delete the config.xml file and redo all the settings...

-When I click the FX button, the VST-effects field appears, but cannot be closed.

-I can't tell the difference between DjD crashing or closing because of the 30 mins timeslot :P Maybe you could add a message after the 30 minutes have passed? That way I can judge better whether the program crashed or closed itself.

- All in all, it is turning into a nice piece of software! although I would like for it to remain basic: just vinyl control that works 100% and good library browsing. But that is just me ;)

- To leave line-in mode, right-click again.

- Get the registration code from the downloadpage and past it in the preferences registration tab.

I'm also wondering how I should calibrate. In the SPM skin or in the preferences vinyl control tab?

Callibrating should work the same from the skin or from the preferences pane.

Adion,

Is it already possible to implement native timecode control in the mac version?

Cheers, Mark

dj'd for a couple of hours a few days ago. first time with the OSX version of djdecks.

all went well, had a calibration problem with one the decks at first, but it was due to the needle/cartridge (always a bit of a risk with rented turntables).

one thing that doesn't work properly is the line switch ... you can click it once to switch it to line, but you can't switch it back off (need to restart djdecks for that).

Haven't tested this very well yet, but if you load a new song, isn't line input automatically disabled?

Can you try if the input itself is working by starting Line Input in djDecks.
If you do, you should be able to hear the timecode through djDecks.

I have the same problem as shahb – my left deck does not want to work in vinyl control mode, yet it outputs sound flawlessly w/o vinyl control. Tried the switching the cartridges with the other deck, checked cables, and plugged the usb interface into the other usb port, and still no go.

Ok, I got .51 to work on both sides, by quitting and flipping the input and output channels between the 2 decks a couple of times. I tested DJD with FS, SL, & VDJ TCVs

FS: the pitch in the song is much quicker than it should be( almost as if playing a 33rpm on 45 rpm), yet it's showing BPM at half rate. Calibration does not do a difference

SL: bpm and tracking are OK, however, TCVs stop functioning in the middle of any loaded song. DJD picks up the TCVs only if i drop the needle in the beginning of the record

VDJ: these re the only tcvs that are working properly, has good tracking and quicker pitch response than the half time that the SSL tcvs work. I cad drop the needle anywhere on the record and it works
