When I open the latest build of djDecks, the window is shifted to the right. There's nothing wrong with that (I have the dock positioned on the left side of the screen - that's probably the reason), except that when I move it to the left, the previously hidden part is still cut off. In other words, djDecks window width is set to (screen_size - initial_x_offset) upon start and stays that way no matter what I do or what the skin nominal size is.

With the HC4500 on and enabled, DJDecks Feb 13th build works, but DJDecks Feb 16th, will not start with the HC4500 on.

Here's the error report:

Thanks, the part below Binary Images is not really necessary though.
What would be helpful is some more information about when the crash happens and when it doesn't. Is it happening when loading a song, when playing a song, with/without vinyl control, ...

Don't know if this actually qualifies as a bug, but today I had this phenomenon that when dragging a random mp3 file (all 320k cbr) into a player, on the first attempt it didn't load, it cleared the old file out though. After dragging another file in (which loaded fine), the same file that didn't work before loaded and played without problems. Same thing happened a few times with different files (which are on a FAT32 Bootcamp partition).

And yet more funky stuff, after giving it a few more spins:

1. DJDecks ate my playlist. I was playing a few tunes when I tried to load a new song from a playlist, and at that moment I got the spinning beachball of death. Next start, the playlist was corrupted. Trying to load it again lead to another beach ball, so my guess is that the crash was caused by trying to load the broken playlist, which was damaged in some way by DJDecks in the process of using and modifying it (moving tracks up and down). Actually, it was an unreadable Zero-Kilobytes-File in the end. Should have made a backup, damnit!

2. Random gain jumps. Using vinyl control (SSL), for no reason channel gain drops by from 1,0 to 0,6. Thought it was me, but it happend three times so far, and it always dropped from 1,0 to 0,6. No midi controllers attached, only vinyl and analog mixer.

3. Every single file starts with a clicky sound.

Not quite ready for the club yet, but for a 0.5x-version still pretty impressive!

co-sign !

my guess is that this indicates the start of the vinyl timecode ?

So this clicky sound is only happening with vinyl control enabled?

The gain might be the auto-gain not behaving correctly for some reason.

The playlist is a little strange, since playlists should only actually be saved while exiting djDecks.
Even then it's strange that a corrupt playlist causes djDecks to crash.
I suppose you don't have the broken playlist anymore?

Clicky sound: Yes, only appears with vinyl control, right at the beginning of the file.

Sadly I don't have the broken playlist anymore, but I doubt it would have been of any use, as it really was a zero kilobyte file without any content. I tried to open it with a text editor and even with a hex editor, it was just plain empty afterwards.

Gain: Is there a way to disable autogain yet? couldn't find anything in the preferences.
(Would it be a workaround to start with a lower gain, or would it just be re-adjusted automatically?)

New build online. Folders should be sorted now, and I think it should fix the 2 crashes reported here.

I haven't been able to get the clicky sound in vinyl control myself yet.
It's not possible yet to disable auto-gain, but I'll try to have a look at it soon.

Hi Adion,

Folders look fine now, even on external harddisks.

One weird thing : when you click a folder thats in the middle of the browser window in djdecks, it jumps to the top of that browser window (it opens the contents fine, but it means you have to reposition your mouse pointer if you wanna go to the next folder).

What would be nice too, is being able to browse folders with the arrow keys, and opening a selected folder by pressing enter or the spacebar or any other key.

Right now, I can move between folders with the arrow keys, but there's no way to select a specific browser or open it that way.

Problems I've noticed during my last testing session:

General:
- I've managed to crash DJD while switching preferences pane tabs (didn't think of saving the crash report, sorry :()

Sound:
- After playing a few tracks DJD started to emit crackling noises from one deck instead of a sound (the track seemed to be loaded just fine, though, waveforms, vc and such). No idea what could have caused this.

Skin & display:
- playlist icons no longer display with transparency (=> pink backgrounds etc)
- seems like bothwaveforms object still cant be set to specific decks (-> always shows deck 1 & 2)
- covers look awfully distorted (as if they were treated with 'solarize'), this may also be a problem with a picture being covered by semi-transparent png
- when scratching short samples the current position marker (bar) on the complete waveform object extends to the top and even beyond the waveform window when the sample is being rewound to the start (tested on tau skin)

Tau skin problems:
- playlist window elements (corners etc) became transparent, this looks weird...
- tab switching script for transport block (manual/vinyl control indicators) sometimes works, sometimes it doesnt:
Code:
click VinylControl %player%
keyup:
click Button_TabSelect,player:directcontroltab %player%
if VinylControl,,%player% click Button_TabSelect,player:vinylcontroltab %player%

So you are using an external mixer right, and both decks go through the same soundcard, or through a different one?
Also, if this happens again, could you try if disabling vinyl control changes anything?

I'm not sure if I will continue to support the pink background transparency. I would recommend to change the icons to real transparent png's or gif files instead.

Loading/resizing of covers should work pretty much the same as in the windows version.
Could you post a screenshot of the problem?

But the files themselves aren't transparent png's?

Try to either move the first click down to just under keyup:, or add keydown: at the top of the script.

I'm using external mixer and vinyl control (both decks on U46DJ, Serato CV2 vinyls). To problem came up pretty randomly after loading a track, loading another one into the same deck brought things back to normal.
I didnt try to disable VC, I'll try that if this happens again.

Attached. This is how the cover on the left should look like.

Nope, BMPs, old school ;)

New beta available.
-The problem with the playlist borders and the cover art were probably related, and should both be fixed
-BothWaveforms can now display waveforms from all decks, same as in the windows version
-Current position marker on complete waveform shouldn't go beyond its borders anymore
