...so I wanted to ask how people are getting on with the Mac version of djDecks?

Frankly, I'm too lazy to read this entire section of the forum!

So,
-is it stable?
-are any features of the windows version not working?
-is anyone playing out regularly with it?
-have you had any issues/teething problems?
-what spec Mac should I be looking at?
-has anyone used video yet?

Note: please note I know nothing about Macs at all so try not to use any Mac jargon that I won't understand...yet ;)

Nobody got any experiences to share? Opinions? Advice?

I think most things in djDecks are working both on mac and pc now.
The only thing that I can think of that is missing is VST plugin support.

Video also works pretty much the same on mac and pc.

I think all mac's that you can buy today are fast enough for djDecks.
I'm just not sure if the Macbook Air's would be fast enough for Full HD video.

What are the reasons you want to switch to mac?

Thanks Adion!

Reason for considering getting a Mac are the number of DJs I've worked with this summer who've had major problems with their PC based laptops/desktops and the fact that every Mac user I've talked to says they've never had any issues whatsoever. When I'm working in a hot climate my laptop gets very hot, but the Macbook pro has a metal body which dissipates heat much better. The MAC has an integrated digital output which would keep one sound engineer I work with happy! Macs also don't suffer from ground loop 'hum' that you get with a PC based laptop.

I think increased reliability and better quality are the main reasons.

Do you think I should stick with my present laptop?

I'd hold off going for a mac at least a little longer... and google 'ultrabook' you'll notice it's some kind of pc-world reply to the macbook air in many ways, and they seems to commonly come with an aluminium body as well...

Oooh, that looks nice! I'd be interested to see the specs when they start releasing them :)

It doesn't like my skin much, but it does pretty good with yours.
