For those of you wanting to create/modify your skins to work with Video, there are a few new objects available:

VideoMix - The mixed video output, which will also appear on a second screen/monitor if it is detected
PlayerVideo - The video loaded in the current deck, with no transition effects applied.
VideoCrossfader - Crossfader which fades VideoMix between deck a and deck b with the selected transition effect.
CrossfadersLock - Switch that locks audio and video crossfader

If there are any other objects that you think should be added, you can discuss that here.
One thing that I think of is probably a drop-down to select the transition effect.

additionally to the dropdown for transition effects, maybe buttons like "next transition" & "previous transition" ?
and an automated 'videomixnow' that would automatically fade in certain direction another click on the button would change that direction.
and how about videomixspeed?

btw, those videomixnow, next & previous buttons are more like meant towards mapping to controllers (might be useful in skins too though)
and maybe videodirection as a boolean? 1 going to left, and 0 going to right?

Maby I'm in a rush... How about video effects? (not transitions)?
Also it would be nice if we could implement VIS for audio tracks like Milkdrop style....

Anyway, for effects I believe they should be separate for each deck, thus we need effect selector for each deck ;)

maybe:

VideoEffect Get the name of the currently selected program. Can also be used on a slider/knob to browse through presets.
Valuespecifier indicates the effect you want to show the preset name for. (starts from 00)

Button_VideoEffectOnOff Switches an effect's state between on and off.
Possible valuespecifiers should some how be stored in a list or VideoEffect's Valuespecifier

EffectVSTScrollPreset Selects the next or previous vst effect. ValueSpecifier is 'xx|yy' where xx is the vst effect slot, yy is the direction (1 is next effect, -1 is previous effect)

Maybe Playlist Icons: video_file_hot.bmp, video_file_new.bmp, ect.
To easily spot when A/V are in the same folder.

I was just thinking that there may need to be a difference between effects, and visualizations...
visualizations are (by default) meant for audio only tracks, where effects play with the video input they get...

More for the wish list...........

To add to "Effects", Maybe be able to select a default video effect for when playing an audio only track.
Also in the mp3 tag editor, add a pull down list of video effects that could be bound to that track.

I just discovered <icon-file-karaoke-played> and it works 8)

but the played doesn't. :(

Is this the correct format?
<icon-file-karaoke-played><file>karaoke_played</file></icon-file-karaoke-played>

Is there a video object for the playlist yet?

So far only VOB's, AVI's and Karaoke.

Playlist video icon's for VOB, AVI and Karaoke are working, but MP4's and MPG's are not.

For mp4, it is currently not a video icon because many mp4 files will be audio only.
I'm surprised about mpg though, checking the code it should show a video icon for mpg/mpeg.

I only have a few MPG vid's and was only checking with one and of course it was a bad rip. Re-ripped and now OK.

As I don't use MP4 for audio I didn't think about an icon id issue. I'm sure you are working on a method to ID which is which. :)

Thanks,
B.

A solution for mp4 could be adding a tagfield and a database field which states something is audio-only or video/karaoke at the time it is loaded (or scanned)
or maybe even at the point they are added (and the tags and it's mp4 fourcc-alternative are read more info can be found here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=78038 )
