I feel like I'm going crazy. I can't seem to show a simple FX window and I don't know why. I can however launch a custom window (testwindow.xml). Thanks in advance!

In my skin info:

<INCLUDE>fonts.xml</INCLUDE>
<INCLUDE>colors.xml</INCLUDE>
<INCLUDE>main.xml</INCLUDE>
<INCLUDE>testwindow.xml</INCLUDE>
<INCLUDE>fxwindow.xml</INCLUDE>

Where I call ShowFX (I've tried adding player spec with 0 and auto, but no luck either):
<OBJECT>
<TYPE>Button</TYPE>
<VALUE>Button_ShowFX</VALUE>
<LEFT-ACTION>default</LEFT-ACTION>
<CENTER-ACTION></CENTER-ACTION>
<RIGHT-ACTION></RIGHT-ACTION>
<POSITION>
<X>36</X>
<Y>3</Y>
<WIDTH>36</WIDTH>
<HEIGHT>26</HEIGHT>
</POSITION>
<DRAWTYPE>-1</DRAWTYPE>
</OBJECT>

And my entire FXWINDOW:
<FXWINDOW>
<BACKGROUND>FX</BACKGROUND>
<STARTPOSITION_1>
<X>0</X>
<Y>323</Y>
</STARTPOSITION_1>
</FXWINDOW>

I should probably also say that the goal is to have one FXWindow that will launch separately for each player (0 to 3) where each window is the same for all players. So in the button_showfx call I would really need to have a <player>#</player> specified.

Got it figured out. The number of players needs to be specified in the skin xml configuration file in the skin directory as non-zero for button_showfx to display the fx panels:

<players>X</players>; X > 0 to use button_showfx, otherwise, X = 0 must use button_showfxonedeck
